Former Detroit Lions late round pick is making a comeback in Canada

The Detroit Lions once had this receiver that everyone had high hopes for. You might remember him. We're talking about Travis Fulgham. The Lions took him out of Old Dominion in the Sixth-round of the 2019 NFL Draft and the hope was that he would be a big help for the team after some time.
He looked good in the preseason, but the Lions couldn't find a spot for him on the 53-man roster with Marvin Jones, Golden Tate, Kenny Golladay and Danny Amendola holding down spots. he did play three games for the Lions.
The thought was that he would be a bigger option for the team in 2020, but he wound up being cut. The Packers brought him on for a short period before they cut him. The Eagles signed him and he had a big season for them down the stretch. He had 38 catches for 539 yards and four touchdowns in eight starts.
The Eagles surprisingly didn't continue to see where things went with him and he was on their practice squad for a bit in 2021 before being waived and signed by the Dolphins and then being waived again and signed by the Broncos. He played one game for them in 2021. That was the last time he was active for a game.
That was until this past weekend when Fulgham made his CFL debut with the British Columbia Lions and he had a big moment in his first game back when he caught this 50 yard touchdown.
Fulgham only caught one other pass in the game, but he showed that he could be someone that the BC Lions look to target more during the season. This was only Week 1. So look for more as the year goes by.
If you're wondering if the Detroit Lions might want to take another look at Fulgham at some point, they wouldn't be able to do that until the 2025 season. CFL players can not sign with NFL teams until December at the earliest.
Wide receiver seems like an even bigger need for the Lions after OTAs and mandatory minicamp
The Detroit Lions neglected to get a wide receiver this offseason. The big reason why the Lions didn't make that move is becasue Lions GM Brad Holmes felt confident in what the team had ahead of OTAs and minicamp. Right off the bat you could see that maybe some of that confidence was coming true […]
