Will the Cowboys play the starters?

That's the thing. We don't quite know at this point. Lions head coach Dan Campbell was asked on Wednesday if he knew who he planned to play in this game when it came to the starters and he said that he did know, but he didn't want to tell us yet. So we might just have to find out on Friday night. For what it's worth, the Lions did bring out their starters for one drive each last year.

How much of the Lions offense will we see?

Probably not a whole lot. These things tend to be pretty vanilla. Especially these first games. It's usually the third preseason game where you see the most. Expect to see a lot of the young players that are trying to hammer down a roster spot on Friday night.

3 Players to watch

  • Jameson Williams: Campbell said that the Lions are going to douse Williams in preseason reps, so get ready to see a lot of Williams on Friday night. This will be the most gametime we've seen him in since the Lions drafted him.
  • Dylan Drummond: The undrafted rookie that everyone is talking about. Unless you've been to camp or an Eastern Michigan game, this will be the first time you've seen him. Let's see if he can finish the story.
  • Jahmyr Gibbs: How much will the Lions unleash Gibbs on Friday night? He will definitely be on just about everyone's watch list.
