Welp, it wasn't the homecoming that the Detroit Lions or their fans were hoping for. They fought tooth and nail with the Seahawks, but at the end of the day, they just couldn't stop the Seattle offense and they wound up losing in 37-31 in overtime.

After some time to think, I've got four winners and three losers for the Lions in this game.

Winner: Jared Goff

The pick six isn’t a big deal to me. This guy played a great game on Sunday. The interception doesn’t matter because because he had 378 consecutives passes without one. Aside from that, Goff completed 80% of his passes on Sunday. That is not easy to do. All told, he threw for 323 yards and three touchdowns.

Loser: Aaron Glenn

I know a large section of Lions fans want Aaron Glenn to get fired. I’m not at all there at this time. However, it is quite concerning that Aaron Glenn led defenses have allowed 136 total points in three games against the Seahawks. Is that becasue he’s bad or does Peter Carroll simply have his number? You have to hope the Lions don’t play the Seahawks in the playoffs.

Winner: Josh Reynolds

Josh Reynolds is having a very good season right now. He had a great night against the Chiefs in Week 1. He followed that up with a great day against the Seahawks on Sunday. Reynolds put up two touchdowns against the Seahawks and continues to keep showing why he’s the serpent of death. He’s so quiet and then he just sneaks up on you has a great game and nobody ever seems to see it coming.

Loser: Aggression

I’m not going to say Dan Campbell is a loser here. He had the Lions in the game till the end. I will say that aggression really hurt this team. There were at least two times where the Lions opted to go for it on 4th-down instead of trying to take the points and failed both times. There was another instant where they failed and gave the Seahawks the ball in their own territory. Aggression is good and it work sometimes, but you can’t put yourself in a position where it can kill you. The Lions did that on Sunday.

Winner: Sam LaPorta

The rookie made some serious waves on Sunday and really showed what he can do with the ball after he catches it. He made two huge plays in the fourth quarter that helped the Lions stay in the game. Look for Goff and the Lions to start going his way a lot more. LaPorta finished the day with five catches for 63 yards.

Loser: Ski-Masks

I was as pro ski-masks as one could possibly be. I thought it was hard as hell and it really spoke to the the villain era that the Lions are going through. The whole thing with the ski masks is that the Lions needed to win this game for them to have a life. They didn't. Now you have this:

And now it's over. It was fun, we all had some laughs, but now the ski-masks need to be buried in the desert somewhere. It doesn't matter what desert. Pick one.

Winner: Alex Anzalone

It was a bad day for the defense, but I have to at least add one winner on that end. That winner is Alex Anzalone. Simply because he was able to get a huge sack in the fourth quarter and that helped set the Lions offense up for a chance to go tie the game.

Monday Overreaction. Aaron Glenn’s seat is hot with the Lions

The Detroit Lions lost on Sunday. Naturally, it's time to overreact. I did a lot of these Monday Overreaction pieces in my Pride of Detroit days. This is the first time I'm doing it here and this is the first time that I'm not totally sure this is an overreaction.  Here's the thing. The Lions […]
