The next Colts player who will get a massive contract extension
The Indianapolis Colts have handed out some sizeable contract extensions over the past few seasons. This offseason, they paid two of their best players by giving WR Michael Pittman Jr. a new three-year $70 million contract and extending star DT DeForest Buckner with a two-year 46 million contract. Who will be the next Colts player to cash in on a big extension? I think the answer is pretty clear.
Colts LT Bernhard Raimann

The Colts drafted Bernhard Raimann with the 77th pick of the 3rd round in the 2022 NFL Draft. The team chose to take it slow with Raimann. He didn't make his first regular-season start until Week 5 against the Denver Broncos, and to say it didn't go well would be an understatement. Both Barron Browning and Bradley Chubb teed off on Raimann and the Colts' offensive line as the duo combined for five sacks and nine QB hits.
Slowly but surely, Raimann showed improvement during his rookie season, ending with eleven starts and solid momentum entering his second season. In 2023, he easily won the team's starting LT job ahead of Week 1 and showed his late-season success in 2022 was not a fluke. He put up a strong sophomore year, and many around the NFL are beginning to take notice.
Pro Football Focus recently included Raimann on their 2024 "All-Breakout Team," which indicates players they believe are going to take massive steps forward as players during the upcoming season. Raimann already took a gigantic step forward in 2023, and if he takes another in 2024, he will likely be spoken about in the same breath as many of the top young left tackles in the NFL. With Raimann's rookie contract set to expire after the 2025 season, and I think he is in store for a massive payday. One that, if the Colts are smart, they have already begun planning towards.

A deep dive into the Indianapolis Colts’ most notable 2025 free agents
During the 2024 NFL offseason, the Indianapolis Colts made their in-house free agents their main priority. The team re-signed 10 of their own free agents and only brought in two players who played for another NFL team last season, Joe Flacco and Raekwon Davis. And with the 2024 season around the corner, I thought we […]
Five people the Colts need to let participate in their home game tradition in 2024
The Indianapolis Colts get fans at Lucas Oil pumped up even before the opening kickoff of each game with an event that has become a tradition. Where they have a special guest take a hammer and hit an anvil to pump up the crowd. In the past, they've had former Colts, doctors and teachers in the […]
