The Indianapolis Colts came away winners, at least on paper, in the 2023 NFL Draft. From landing its franchise quarterback to filling important holes on defense, there is a lot to like about what the Colts accomplished.

Shane Steichen and Chris Ballard had a plan and executed it well. So well, that one of the best NFL Draft analysts had some high praise for the Colts. NFL Network analyst Daniel Jeremiah recently shared the best value draft classes.

Indianapolis finished at the top. According to Jeremiah, the Colts got the most value out of their draft selections. The value was based on the prospects that made up Jeremiah's top-150 board.

The Colts made a total of 12 selections during draft weekend. Richardson obviously headlines the class. Indianapolis grabbed the Florida quarterback at No. 4 overall, and he arrives to Indy with hefty expectations.

Beyond on that though, the Colts selected multiple defensive backs that have real opportunities to play key snaps as rookies. Indianapolis also added a couple of pass catchers for Richardson and some offensive linemen.

Jeremiah sees a ton of value in how the Colts drafted this April. Per Jeremiah's formula, Indianapolis was followed by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, and Cincinnati Bengals.

That's exactly what you want to see if you are Steichen and Ballard. Because the foundation is now set for Steichen's first season and beyond. Time will tell if the draft class produces, but the early returns are positive.
