News broke Monday that the NFL has filed a grievance against the NFL Players Association, better known as the NFLPA.
Mark Maske of The Washington Post was the first to share the news of the NFL's grievance being filed.
Maske wrote in more detail information on the NFL's grievance In his piece via The Washington Post. In which he wrote the exact accusation being made by the NFL against the NFL PA:
"The NFL has filed a grieevance agaisnt the NFL Players Association, acusing the union of improperly advising running backt o fake injuries as a contract-negotiating tactiv with their teams"
"The non-injury grievance was filed last week and will be resolved by an arbitrator. It accuses the NFLPA of violating provisions of the collective bargaining agreement between the league and union."
– Mark Maske of The Washington Post
This accusation hits home for fans of the Indianapolis Colts, whose star RB Jonathan Taylor's desire for a new contract has been in the public eye. A desire that has led to Taylor and his representation requesting a trade out of Indianapolis and ending up on the team's PUP list after failing a physical.
The legitimacy of that injury was brought into question by longtime Indianapolis Beat Reporter Mike Chappell of FOX59/CBS4 Sports earlier this month with his report that the "Colts believe Taylor is able to pass physical."
With the NFL's grievance now being public, it seems important to share Chappell's report as it could connect the NFL's grievance directly with Colts RB Jonathan Taylor. And all eyes will be on Jonathan Taylor, who is expected to return to the field from the PUP list by Week 5 this season.
