Ameer Abdullah was one of the Las Vegas Raiders' additions last season to an already deep running back room.

He appeared in all 17 of the Raiders' games last season, totaling 20 rushing yards and 211 receiving yards, and a touchdown.

The eight-year NFL veteran was brought in last March and the Raiders utilized him as a receiving threat more than a running threat in between the tackles. He also contributed as the team's primary kick returner — though he wasn't really successful in that role.

He averaged a career-low 20.9 yards per return. And that may have been a function of him returning on a team that wasn't very good during the 2022 NFL season.

The highlight of Abdullah's year with the Raiders came in a Week 12 bout against the Seattle Seahawks, where he finished with 39 receiving yards, 16 rushing yards, and a touchdown.

Abdullah's touchdown was an 18-yard reception on third-and-5 in the first quarter.

After not really being effective in the following week, Abdullah rattled off 17-, 14- and 27-yard receiving performances in Weeks 14, 15, and 16.

Though Josh Jacobs dominated the headlines, Abdullah proved a reliable backup option on a Raiders team that put together effective stretches but ultimately couldn't win the games it needed too late.

Now, the Raiders shift focus to the offseason and the NFL draft. With Derek Carr leaving, and the Raiders unsure about Jacobs' return, it should be an eventful few months in Las Vegas.
