The Los Angeles Chargers needed a change at the helm. They needed it a long time ago, as Brandon Staley was just not getting the job done. They couldn't handle any more blown leads, bad play calls in the fourth quarter, bad calls to go for it on fourth down, and so many other things.

The Chargers then looked to the free agent market for head coaches, and it seemed as if there was a real shot that the coach everyone wanted, would come to the Chargers. Jim Harbaugh, who played for the San Diego Chargers, was hired, and things have already been drastically different since then.

He's already doing things that Brandon Staley wouldn't do. Not because he refused to, but because he never thought to. Things like certificates of excellence, or whatever he called it, that he gave out for perfect attendance throughout OTAs and minicamps.

That may not be a big deal to some, but it's a little thanks that shows the players "Hey I see you and recognize what you're doing."

And, most importantly, he is ringing a better culture and better energy. I mean, the man already has his own highlight tape from coaching at mandatory minicamp this last week.

The video the Chargers put out of Harbaugh at camp is literally just a bunch of clips compiled together that show him talking to his players, bringing the energy, and just being a happy dude. That's one huge difference between then and now.
