As it turns out, the Miami Dolphins apparently won't end up keeping one of their best players.

Per NFL Networks' Ian Rapoport, DT Christian Wilkins has reached an agreement with the Las Vegas Raiders on a massive contract.

That's simply an eye-popping contract.  There's no other way around it.  There was concern that the Ravens' big deal with DT Justin Madubuike would mean a big market for Wilkins, but that is still an astoundingly high number, especially the guaranteed total of $84.75 million.

Projections for Wilkins had come in around the $22-25 million range per various outlets, with A to Z Sports' Josh Queipo and Kyle DeDimincantanio projecting 4 years $92 million with $50 million guaranteed.  It turns out that the market was significantly stronger than that.

At over $30 million over the effective salary cap mark per Over The Cap, the Dolphins had absolutely no shot at competing with an offer like that.  And as such, Miami will now look to replace the massive hole that their 2019 first round draft pick is leaving.
