Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Harrison Bailey was supposed to be a savior on Rocky Top.
Bailey came to Tennessee in 2020 as a four-star recruit who was rated as the No. 3 pro-style quarterback in the nation.
The Georgia native put up insane numbers in high school that put him in the same neighborhood as Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
Unfortunately for Bailey, he was never able to put it all together at Tennessee and he transferred to UNLV after the 2021 season.
(In Bailey's defense, he arrived at Tennessee in the middle of a pandemic and then he had to endure a coaching change as Jeremy Pruitt was fired after his freshman season.)
Bailey saw limited action for UNLV last season, completing just 30 passes for 318 yards and two touchdowns in six games.
As a result of the lackluster season, Bailey once again hit the transfer portal. And this time he's heading back to the east coast. The former Vol announced on Thursday that he's transferring to Louisville.
Bailey is the second former Vol to transfer to Louisville in the last two years. Running back Tiyon Evans left Tennessee near the end of the 2021 season and transferred to Louisville. Oddly enough, Evans rushed for the same amount of yards and touchdowns in 2022 at Louisville as he did in 2021 at Tennessee (525 yards and six touchdowns). Evans signed with the Los Angeles Rams after going undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft.
As for Bailey, he'll compete with former Purdue and California QB Jack Plummer, former Purdue four-star recruit Brady Allen, and four-star freshman Pierce Clarkson at Louisville this fall.
