Josh Heupel is giving recruits a one-sentence message that isn't just a great recruiting pitch, but it's also a perfect motto/rallying cry for the Tennessee Vols right now.

Heupel knows that the atmosphere at Tennessee is incredibly special right now. And while it's something that Heupel hopes/plans to sustain, it's also something he has to take advantage of on the recruiting trail.

That's why Heupel is telling recruits that Tennessee is the right place with the right people at the right time.

“I think Coach Heupel said it best, it’s the right place with the right people at the right time," said 2024 five-star linebacker Sammy Brown to AtoZ Sports earlier this week.

Not only is that what Heupel and his staff should be telling every single recruit they come in contact with (and this isn't the first time we've heard this line from a recruit), but it's what every player in Tennessee's locker room should be saying, too.

The Vols believe they can win a championship this season. And that's absolutely their goal/expectation. So why not adopt a "why not us" mentality? Why not use "the right place with the right people at the right time" as a rallying cry this fall?

Someone has to unseat Georgia eventually. There's no reason Tennessee can't be the program to do it.

"Expectations will never be higher (externally) than they are in the building," said Heupel at the SEC meetings in Florida this week. "It’s a great time to be a Vol. It’s been fun building this. When we first arrived, a lot of uncertainty surrounding the program with so many things that we were trying to navigate. The foundation that we’ve laid, how we’ve competed, players what they’ve done, what they’ve continued to do. There’s a lot of excitement.”

Tennessee believes they can accomplish something special this season and in the coming seasons. And a team that believes is extremely dangerous.
