After a couple of weeks of Tennessee Titans training camp updates, it was time for the real deal on Thursday night.

Well, kinda.

The Titans hit the field for their first preseason game on Thursday night as they took on the Baltimore Ravens.

Tennessee dropped the matchup to Baltimore 23-10 (giving the Ravens their 21st straight preseason win), but there was still plenty to learn from the game.

Specifically, Titans fans got a good look at rookie quarterback Malik Willis.

AtoZ Sports Film Room's James Foster broke down Willis' first preseason start and had plenty of great nuggets to offer.

Foster pointed out that Willis looked timid throwing to the middle of the field. He also noted that Willis likely picked up some bad habits in college — like escaping the pocket too soon — because of the extremely poor pass protection he had at Liberty.

You can check out the entire four-minute-long video below. Foster does a great job explaining what Willis did well and what he needs to work on during the rest of the preseason.

During the breakdown, Foster points out that second-year wide receiver Racey McMath likely locked up a roster spot via a long reception.

Foster pointed out McMath's 48-yard reception in the first half as a play that should solidify McMath's role in the offense in 2022.

If Foster noticed McMath's excellent route running on that play, then Tennessee's coaches certainly noticed it as well.

The Titans' have four wide receivers that should be considered locks to make the 53-man roster — Robert Woods, Treylon Burks, Nick Westbrook-Ikhine, and Kyle Philips.

That means McMath is fighting with Josh Malone, Reggie Roberson Jr, Dez Fitzpatrick, and Mason Kinsey for those final two spots.

Based on Foster's film breakdown, it sounds like McMath is doing enough of the little things the right way to earn a spot on the Titans' 53-man roster this fall.
