The Tennessee Titans have endured plenty of change to their roster and front office during the last year. Now, it sounds like head coach Mike Vrabel is making some waves in how the team operates to prepare for the season, too.
Newly-signed cornerback Sean Murphy-Bunting discussed the style of coaching that Vrabel provides during media availability on Tuesday.
The CB is a key cog for the Titans defense this season, and he enjoys what Vrabel and the staff are doing to push the players forward in their development.
In particular, Murphy-Bunting mentioned that one day during practice – coaches had them do sled pushing. That's an abnormal part of practice for this time of the season, and those drills aren't known for being consistent ones for cornerbacks.
It was a curveball, but it seemed to work out well for Vrabel and the Titans. It showed new players that every day in the building will not be the same while they dawn a Titans uniform. They must be prepared for any and every situation. The staff is doubling down on that mentality, and it could pay off during the season.
