Former Tennessee Vols linebacker Nick Reveiz is set to be the new defensive coordinator at VMI, according to a report from Football Scoop's John Brice.
As noted by Brice, Reveiz will join former Vols quarterback/holder Patrick Ashford on VMI's staff. Ashford serves as the offensive coordinator for the Keydets.
Reveiz played for the Volunteers from 2007 to 2010. The Tennessee native was a walk-on at UT, before earning a scholarship and becoming a fan favorite. Reveiz ended up becoming a key player for the Vols in 2009 and 2010.
In fact, when Reveiz tore his ACL in 2009, it was a major blow to Tennessee's defense. Reveiz, however, recovered to start in all 13 games for the Vols in 2010.
Reveiz also has the distinction of being one of the players that played for Phillip Fulmer, Lane Kiffin, and Derek Dooley at Tennessee (you know he has some great stories).
The former Vol standout comes to VMI after serving as Albany State's defensive coordinator since 2017.
Perhaps there will be a spot for Reveiz on Tennessee's staff in the not-so-distant future…
