DeAndre Hopkins officially signed with the Tennessee Titans on July 24th, ending months of speculation on where the star receiver would play next.

Many penciled in contenders like the Chiefs and Bills, but Hopkins surprised many by signing with Tennessee. Recently, Hopkins sat down for a feature with GQ Magazine to discuss his tumultuous offseason. In the process of the interview, Hopkins revealed that few teams never returned his calls after he expressed interest in playing for them.

The Giants, Cowboys, Lions, and 49ers were among the teams on Hopkins' "list" who never reciprocated the interest.

The 49ers and Cowboys both have multiple talented receivers, but it's hard to believe neither the Lions nor Giants could find a spot for the five-time Pro Bowler.

However, Hopkins made sure to clarify that he is happy with his decision to sign with the Titans.

“I’m very grateful for where I am, I think I made the best decision,” Hopkins explained. “But when you’re a player and some people feel like they’re great without you, and then you see what they have on paper, or you see what they do, you mark those games down, as a competitor. I can't wait to play' em and, honestly, try my best to crush they a**.”

The lack of reported interest in Hopkins is likely due to the star receiver missing several games over the last two seasons due to injury and a suspension. The receiver is also 31, and Hopkins acknowledged that this likely played a role.

“I don't look at age, but it's some of the reason some teams might've passed up on me," Hopkins explained. "Their #1 DB would have a hard time against me on the island.”

In just nine games for the Arizona Cardinals in 2022, Hopkins collected 64 catches for 717 yards. Those numbers would've had Hopkins firmly atop the leaderboard among receivers in Tennessee. Now, Hopkins will try to prove his doubters wrong as the top receiver in Tennessee.
