The Tennessee Titans ended the 2023 preseason on a postive note, handily defeating the New England Patriots 23-7.

With the NFL roster cut deadline just a few days away, the team has many decisions to make. A few players impressed against the Patriots, which can't hurt their chances to make the team.

Let's identify the three players who were the most impressive in the preseason finale.

RB Jacques Patrick

Patrick was the leading rusher on the night, finishing with 76 rushing yards on 15 carries. Patrick also showed some receiving ability, collecting 2 catches for 18 yards.

Patrick signed a two-year contract with the Titans just two weeks ago, which is unusual for a late summer signing. This perhaps indicates that Patrick is safely on the roster. His performance against the Patriots certainly didn't hurt his chances.

It seems like a safe assumption that Hassan Haskins will not be on the team. Derrick Henry, Tyjae Spears, and Julius Chestnut will likely be the three backs on the roster, but Patrick could make it as the fourth back since there is no fullback on the team.

DT Michael Dwumfour

Perhaps no player helped his cause more against the Patriots than Dwumfour. The defensive tackle collected two tackles and led the team with two sacks.

Denico Autry, Teair Tart, and Jeffery Simmons will be the starters on the defensive line. Jayden Peevy will likely make the team as depth after a solid summer showing. This means there are likely two spots available between Kyle Peko, TK McClendon Jr., Naquan Johnson, Jaleel Johnson, Tyler Shelvin, and Trevon Coley.

Dwumfour outperformed those other players against the Patriots and may have done enough to earn a depth spot. Dwumfour has bounced around recently but may have found his place in Nashville.

QB Malik Willis

Willis likely earned the backup QB job after his impressive preseason. Thanks to a Will Levis injury, Willis got much more playing time than was expected and for the most part, took advantage of it.

Take away two bad interceptions against the Patriots, and Willis played a near-perfect game. The QB ended the night 15/20 for 211 yards, with two TDs and two INTs. I think Willis definitely did enough to deserve a roster spot, especially with the new QB rules this year.

Levis obviously won't be cut, and Willis has played too well to be cut. I think Willis showed enough to start the season off as the backup QB.
