Former Tennessee Vols quarterback Hendon Hooker has a great relationship with UT legend Peyton Manning.
Manning would routinely text Hooker during the 2022 season to check in and discuss the state of Tennessee Football.
While Hooker and Manning are already close, it still had to be a cool moment for Hooker to receive a surprise message from The Sheriff.
Fanatics recently dropped a short documentary that was filmed at the NFL Rookie Premiere in Los Angeles earlier this offseason.
The documentary features various NFL rookies receiving messages from their NFL heroes. And Peyton, of course, was the choice for Hooker.
"I just encourage you to keep working hard, be the best quarterback and teammate you can be," says Manning in the video while sitting in a luxury vehicle with, presumably, his kids' baseball/softball equipment behind him.
Hooker, a third-round selection by the Detroit Lions in the 2023 NFL Draft, is currently rehabbing his torn ACL (suffered in Tennessee's loss to South Carolina last November). Earlier this week, Hooker progressed to throwing routes to wide receivers, though it's still unclear if he'll be a full-go for training camp later this summer.
