The Tennessee Vols left Thompson-Boling Arena on Saturday evening with a huge win.

Tennessee knocked off the Auburn Tigers 67-62.

The win was especially sweet for several reasons. Obviously, it's always great when the Vols beat Bruce Pearl, who coached at Tennessee from 2005-2010.

It's even better when Auburn is a top-five team, as they were on Saturday in Knoxville (the Tigers are No. 4 in the AP Top 25 poll).

Near the end of the game, Tennessee fans, for some reason, started chanting "overrated" toward the Auburn players.

UT head coach Rick Barnes wasn't a fan of the chant.

"No, they're not overrated," said Barnes. "We just beat a Top 5 team. I've never understood that. Give us credit, we just beat an unbelievable basketball team. I've never enjoyed when that happens."

I'm with Barnes on this one. I've never understood why fans would chant "overrated" at an opponent that they're beating. As a fan, you're basically saying "this win isn't that impressive because you're not as good as we thought you were".

The thought process as a fan should be "that team is really good, so we must be really good too because we just beat them"

I'm glad Barnes spoke up because this is something that's always bugged me. It totally takes away from what the team just accomplished.
