The Tennessee Titans have a need on their roster that they've been trying to fix consistently recently. Band-aids on the kicker position haven't worked out. Accordingly, they continue to look for the best possible option. Veteran kicker Mason Crosby spent over a decade with the Green Bay Packers.
At age 38, he's certainly an older option, but he was one of the best kickers in the NFL during his time in Green Bay. Giving him a look would probably make sense for Tennessee.
Crosby hit just over 86% of his kicks last year, and he has interest in continuing his playing career.
There's been no specific connection between Crosby and the Titans yet, but the pairing makes plenty of sense.
The Titans expect to contend for a weak AFC South, and Crosby doesn't want to be done in the league quite yet. Not to mention, Crosby's family lives in Brentwood, Tennessee, and he has been training at Brentwood High School recently. The fit is an ideal one.
The stars seem to align for the two sides to, at least, discuss a deal, right? Only time will tell, but the Titans should probably reach out to Crosby to gauge his interest in joining their roster.
