Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Cedric Tillman was selected with the No. 74 overall pick (third round) in the 2023 NFL Draft by the Cleveland Browns.

Tillman was selected one spot after his former Vols teammate, wide receiver Jalin Hyatt (Hyatt went No. 73 overall to the New York Giants).

Last week saw Tillman take part in his first NFL rookie minicamp. And he's already receiving positive reviews from local reporters in Cleveland who were on hand for the Browns' recent rookie minicamp.

Mary Kay Cabot, a Browns reporter for Cleveland.com, recently appeared on "The Ken Carman Show with Anthony Lima" on 92.3 The Fan.

Cabot was asked which rookie she thinks has the best chance to make an impact for the Browns as a rookie.

Tillman was the choice for Cabot.

"Let me go with Cedric Tillman because, you know, I think he just looks the part so far," said Cabot. "He's got the size. He's got the hands. He's got the ability to high point the ball. He'll have some really good competition because Donovan Peoples-Jones has gotten really, really good. But I think Cedric Tillman is someone who can come in here and make some noise as a rookie."

Tennessee needs Tillman and Hyatt to excel in the NFL to help dispel the idea that UT's offense under Josh Heupel doesn't translate to the NFL. If Tillman and Hyatt can have solid rookie seasons — becoming starters would be a good start — it should end the silly narrative that Heupel's offense doesn't prepare players for the NFL.

So far, it sounds like Tillman is well on his way to making an impact for the Browns in 2023 and ending the narrative about the Vols' offense.
