Former Tennessee Vols running back Dylan Sampson had a welcome to the NFL moment during practice earlier this month.

Sampson, a fourth-round selection by the Cleveland Browns in the 2025 NFL Draft, ran into teammate Myles Garrett — one of the best defensive players in the NFL — during a rep, and it didn’t end well for the former Vol.

The clip went semi-viral on social media, much to the dismay of Sampson.

“Y’all didn’t have to post that on there, man,” said Sampson. “That’s Myles Garrett. I mean, look at him — I’m pretty sure he could do that to a lot of people. But shoot, I think he was just a little mad that we (the offense) was really on them (the defense) that day. And he didn’t want to let us score. But it’s great work. Obviously, it’s the reality of the league.”

“I went up to him and I was like, ‘Bro, you [didn’t have] to do that,’” continued Sampson. “He was like, ‘I didn’t know it was you.’ But nah, it’s all love. And you just get back up and you play ball again. That’s all you can do.”

Myles Garrett is one of one. So there’s no shame in Sampson getting tossed to the ground by the six-time Pro Bowler. If anything, it’ll make Sampson even more prepared for the grind of weekly competition in the NFL.
