The Tennessee Volunteers host the Georgia Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, and College Gameday will be in attendance to add to the excitement of the day.

Naturally, curiosity carried through the week after it was announced that the popular pregame show would be coming to Knoxville for the first time since 2022.

ESPN answered that question on Thursday, announcing that Lady Vols legend Candace Parker will be the guest picker.

Candace Parker named guest picker for College Gameday

Parker had the following to say about the selection:

“What’s up? It’s your girl, Candace Parker, proud alum of the University of Tennessee. If you cut me, I bleed orange. That’s why I’m so excited that college gameday is coming to Knoxville, as the University of Tennessee Volunteers take on the Georgia (fake retch) Dawgs. And guess what? You’re looking at your College Gameday celebrity guest picker. I’m so excited to let the world in on a little secret that 100,000 screaming fans in Neyland will know on Saturday. That the Tennessee Volunteers are going to shock the world and end the ten year drought. Joshua Dobbs, 2016 threw that Hail Mary, and there’s new Josh that’s going to take down the Dawgs, and that’s Coach Heupel. High octane offense, solid defense. We’re ready, and I’m calling it right now. I look forward to seeing you all on Saturday.”

Parker is one of the most recognizable athletes in the history of Tennessee athletics. She helped the Lady Vols win their most recent national championships in 2007 and 2008, earning All-American honors. She is a two-time Olympic gold medalist, three-time WNBA champion, and seven-time All-WNBA First Team.

Tennessee is in the midst of an eight-game losing streak to Georgia, and most of the games haven’t been particularly competitive for four quarters. However, this year’s edition of the rivalry is predicted to finally be a competitive one. Going into Saturday, the line has shrunk substantially towards Tennessee, with the Bulldogs being around a 3.5-4 point favorite.

It all starts at 9 am ET on Saturday on the Hill, where the Gameday setup will be. And it appears as though Parker’s pick – if it wasn’t before today – certainly won’t be a mystery on Saturday.
