ESPN/ABC made quite the gaffe during the broadcast of the Citrus Bowl matchup between the Tennessee Vols and the Iowa Hawkeyes on New Year's Day.
True freshman quarterback Nico Iamaleava started the game for Tennessee, becoming the fourth true freshman quarterback to start a bowl game for the Vols.
A graphic was put on the screen showing the previous results of Tennessee's bowl games that were started by true freshmen quarterbacks.
And two-thirds of it was incorrect.
Tennessee lost the 2001 Cotton Bowl, but that's the only part of the graphic that's correct.
Peyton Manning and the Vols beat Virginia Tech 45-23 in the 1994 Gator Bowl.
And while Tennessee should've beat North Carolina in the 2010 Music City Bowl, they actually lost 30-27 in overtime.
Tennessee famously celebrated a win in the 2010 Music City Bowl, but UNC got a second chance after they were called for too many men on the field. The bizarre ending led to a rule change. You can see some of the chaos in the video below.
Someone at ESPN might want to do a little better research next time.
