A former Tennessee Vols defensive lineman is reportedly transferring for the third time.
Former Vols defensive lineman Chandavian Bradley is reportedly planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal after spending the 2025 season at Oklahoma State.
Bradley is a former four-star recruit who signed with Tennessee during the 2023 recruiting cycle.
The Missouri native spent one season with the Vols (he redshirted and didn’t see any action) before transferring to Hutchinson Community College in 2024.
Bradley totaled three tackles in 11 games this past season at Oklahoma State.
Chandavian Bradley got hit with a dose of reality by Vols defensive line coach Rodney Garner in 2023
During his brief time at Tennessee, Bradley went viral for some comments he made about Vols defensive line coach Rodney Garner’s tough-love approach.
“I love Coach G,” said Bradley a month before the 2023 season started. “Coming into the year — let’s say after signing day — he came into my school, because we have other people in our school that are being recruited, I met up with him. And the first thing he said is ‘You’re signed now. It’s over. We’re not treating you like a baby anymore. I’m gonna be on you about every little thing, no matter what it is, even though you’re still in high school’. And he did not lie. I got texts at least once every week. Just him checking up on me, making sure that I’m doing everything that I need to do. And since I’ve been here, he’s been on me about every little thing and I love it.”
“I went up to him after practice today and told him thank you because that’s the type of stuff that I like,” continued Bradley. “Because it helps me learn. And I think sometimes it looks as if it gets under my skin a little bit. But in reality, in my head, I’m processing it and I genuinely like being taught that way. I like being yelled at. It’s weird, but I really do like it. I enjoy it.”
Garner responded to Bradley’s comments by suggesting that the young defensive lineman was trying to earn “brownie points”.
“I think Chandavian is just trying to get some brownie points,” said Garner. “But you know, I really don’t like yelling at him. I wish I didn’t have to yell at him. So I’d like for him to just do a better job and be more physical. And just take the coaching and not try to kiss up to the teacher.”
Bradley is undoubtedly a talented player, but he just hasn’t been able to reach his potential yet for whatever reason.
