A former Tennessee Vols player is heading to Athens to play for the Georgia Bulldogs.

The NCAA transfer portal closed on April 30, but players who were in the portal by the deadline are eligible to transfer at any time.

Players can't enter the portal until the next window opens.

On Monday evening, former Vols running back Len'neth Whitehead announced that he's transferring to Georgia.

Whitehead, a former four-star recruit, is from Athens.

The former Vol originally signed with Tennessee as part of UT's 2020 signing class under former head coach Jeremy Pruitt. Whitehead didn't see a lot of action during his three seasons in Knoxville due to numerous injuries.

Whitehead didn't play at all as a true freshman while dealing with an injury. He played in eight games as a sophomore in 2021, totaling 207 rushing yards and two touchdowns.

The Georgia native missed the entire 2022 season with an upper-body injury. Whitehead entered the transfer portal just after the Vols' win against Vanderbilt in the 2022 regular-season finale.

Whitehead will be a depth addition for the Bulldogs and likely won't be a key part of their running back rotation.
