Former Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt has a younger brother who also plays football, but he won't be playing on Rocky Top.
Devin Hyatt, a 2023 three-star wide receiver from Irmo, SC, announced on Wednesday that he's signing with the Arizona Wildcats.
Hyatt, 6-foot-2/194 lbs, is rated by 247Sports as the No. 90 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 101 player in the state of Florida (he attends IMG Academy).
The younger Hyatt is obviously very familiar with Tennessee through his brother and multiple visits to Knoxville.
But for whatever reason, Hyatt and UT just didn't prove to be a match.
Playing football at a high level, however, is in Hyatt's DNA. It'll be fun watching him at Arizona. And really, it might be better for him to be removed from his older brother's shadow.
If he had landed at Tennessee, he'd constantly be compared to Jalin. He'll be able to pave his own path at Arizona. And who knows, maybe he adds another Biletnikoff Award to the family trophy case.
