One of the Tennessee Vols' top 2025 recruiting targets officially has a commitment date set.
2025 four-star wide receiver Travis Smith told On3 recently that he plans to announce his commitment on July 13.
Smith, 6-foot-4/191 lbs from Atlanta, GA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 14 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 17 player in the state of Georgia.
Tennessee, Auburn, Alabama, and Georgia are the programs that Smith is still considering.
Smith's commitment on July 13 will be preceded by official visits to each of his finalists.
And that's where the Vols could have a slight advantage in this recruiting battle.
Smith's official visits start with a trip to Georgia on May 31 before checking out Auburn (June 7) and Alabama (June 14).
Tennessee will receive Smith's final official visit (June 21) before the coveted wide receiver announces his commitment.
Getting the final visit doesn't always guarantee that a program will land a player, but it's certainly an advantage. College coaches always prefer to get the last chance to make an impression a player. And the Vols will get that chance — at least when it comes to official visits — with Smith.
Tennessee currently has nine players committed to its 2025 recruiting class, including three-star wide receivers Joakim Dodson and Radarious Jackson.
