Tennessee Vols legend Peyton Manning was in Knoxville on Saturday for UT's matchup against the Georgia Bulldogs.

Manning, who was honored during a timeout for his recent induction into the NFL Hall of Fame, took some time before the game to talk with Georgia head coach Kirby Smart.

The two former SEC players are good friends, despite being rivals on the field in the mid to late 1990s.

According to Smart, the conversation before the game centered around Manning's desire to have his son, Marshall, recruited by Smart to Georgia.

Peyton's son will turn 11 next spring, so there are still a few years before recruiting will pick up for him.

However, this is a kid that Vol fans are going to expect to see in Orange and White. If Peyton's son lands at Georgia, it'll give UT fans a taste of how Ole Miss fans felt when Peyton committed to Tennessee over the Rebels nearly 30 years ago (Peyton's father, Archie, was a legend at Ole Miss).

Of course, there's a good chance that Smart was just giving Peyton a hard time with his comments. Smart and Manning love to throw some good-natured jabs at each other.

In early 2020, during a celebrity golf match with Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, and Tom Brady, Manning threw some shade at Georgia and Smart by saying he refused to wear black and red because those were Bulldogs colors.

Maybe Manning will respond to Smart's comments during his next appearance on ESPN's "Manningcast".
