Ole Miss Rebels head coach Lane Kiffin understands what Tennessee Vols head coach Josh Heupel was feeling on Saturday night after UT's 34-20 loss to the Alabama Crimson Tide.
Kiffin, who was the head coach at Tennessee in 2009, tweeted that he loved Heupel's reaction when asked if the officiating was "one-sided" in Tuscaloosa on Saturday night.
"I love this reaction!! Been in that same press conference in Orange in that same staduim. I know that feeling," tweeted Kiffin.
There were plenty of questionable calls during Tennessee's loss to Alabama. And Heupel was clearly displeased with the officiating at various moments during the game.
Kiffin, who was an assistant at Alabama from 2014 to 2016, was the Vols' head coach during their memorable 12-10 loss to the Tide in Tuscaloosa in 2009. That game ended with Terrence Cody's blocked field that sealed the win for Bama.
By the way, Kiffin isn't the only former Tennessee head coach with connections to Alabama that's felt frustrated by one-sided officiating in Tuscaloosa. Former Vols head coach Jeremy Pruitt, who is an Alabama guy through and through, expressed plenty of frustration with the officials in Tuscaloosa in Tennessee's loss to the Crimson Tide in 2019.
