Lane Kiffin and the Ole Miss Rebels are actively trying to swipe a 2026 football commit from the Tennessee Vols.
2026 three-star linebacker Braylon Outlaw has been committed to Tennessee since early November. Kiffin and the Rebels are hoping to change that.
Outlaw recently visited Ole Miss and he came away "impressed" according to Rivals.com national recruiting director Adam Gorney.
From Rivals.com: During a recent visit to Ole Miss, coach Lane Kiffin and defensive coordinator Pete Golding broke down the Rebels’ defense point by point to the Tennessee commit and it definitely impressed Outlaw.
Will it be enough to flip him? That’s still unclear. But the high three-star linebacker seems to love how Ole Miss’ defense fits him and the Rebels will be under serious consideration now.
Outlaw told 247Sports earlier this month that he committed to Tennessee in large part because the Vols are making him feel like a priority.
"Tennessee. That's why I committed to Tennessee," said Outlaw when asked which programs are making him feel like a priority. "Just the feeling and the love I got from there. They let me know that I'm a guy and they showed me real love. That was one of the reasons and I just felt like it was the best fit for me."
Outlaw, however, seemingly left the door open for his commitment to potentially flip depending on how his recruitment plays out this spring/summer.
"It really just depends on how I feel," said Outlaw to 247Sports when asked what it would take for someone to flip him from Tennessee. "I kind of consider this as my first time on campus (at Ole Miss). You can come to the game, but when it's not a game, and you can come to a campus and attend different meetings, it's really just a different vibe. It's really just based on how I feel today, and how they would use me, too, once I get to talk to the coaches and see how they would use me in the defense will be a factor."
Outlaw is still committed to the Volunteers, but it's clear that this recruiting battle is far from over.
