Tennessee football finally beating the Florida Gators again has been a blast for Vol fans. When you get a huge win over your most hated rival, the sun shines a little brighter, the sky's a little bluer, and most importantly, you have bragging rights over all of those annoying UF fans.
But it's not just the Big Orange faithful that have swagger this week because of the giant win. Former Tennessee players have also been taking plenty of joy in the victory.
Former Vols wide receiver Cordarrelle Patterson apparently had a bet on the UT-UF game with his Atlanta Falcons teammate, tight end Kyle Pitts, who is a former Florida player. It looks like CP bet Pitts that if Tennessee vanquished the Gators, Pitts would have to wear orange and white checkered overalls. And on Wednesday, Pitts made good on the bet that he lost…
It's a beautiful sight, isn't it?
For once, the Gators get to experience what Tennessee fans have gone through too many times in the last 20 years. Betting on UT to beat Florida can be a very risky proposition, but with Josh Heupel in Knoxville, maybe Vol fans and former players alike will win more of those bets in the years to come.
