There’s been some concern from Tennessee Vols fans that the team will suffer a letdown against LSU after beating Florida this past weekend.

Tennessee’s players certainly enjoyed the win. Some players have even posted content on social media that pokes fun at the Gators.

UT’s players might be enjoying the win, but that doesn’t mean they have the wrong mindset right now.

With Tennessee off this Saturday, the team has already turned its focus to the LSU game on October 8.

On Wednesday, Vols senior linebacker/defensive end Roman Harrison made it clear that Tennessee head coach Josh Heupel is making sure no one gets a “big head”.

“He stays tough on us so we don’t get the big head,” said Harrison of Heupel.

“He wants us to know that we’re in the top 10, but he wants us to stay focused,” added Harrison. “Stayed focused on what we’re building here…now we’re on to the next [game]. Done with Florida, on to LSU.”

Tennessee’s players deserved to enjoy the Florida win. Not many Vols have been part of beating Florida in recent years.

But that wasn’t the Super Bowl for this team.

They want to prove they’re one of the top teams in the SEC, which is something that one of Harrison’s teammates, offensive lineman Javontez Spraggins, mentioned on Wednesday.

There’s no doubt that this team is focused. I don’t know what will happen in the game against LSU in Baton Rouge on October 8, but I can assure you that it won’t be a “letdown game” for Tennessee. These Vols players are on a mission to beat every team on their schedule. And the Tigers are next on their list.
