Longtime NFL reporter Albert Breer took a weird shot at Tennessee Vols fans on Saturday night after UT's 42-17 blowout loss to the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Breer, who graduated from Ohio State, took Vols fans to task for supporting Tennessee football.

"Now that it's over, I've never seen a fanbase delusional as Tennessee—and this is coming from a card-carrying member of a delusional fanbase," wrote Breer in a post on Twitter/X.com. "Haven't even won their conference since the '90s, and carried themselves last two weeks like they're Bama. I'm actually kinda impressed."

Breer is seemingly taking issue with the fact that Tennessee fans rabidly scooped up tickets to a road playoff game and made the five hour trip to Columbus to support their team.

I guess Breer thinks passionate football fans are a bad thing? What were Tennessee fans supposed to do? Sit at home and expect defeat? What kind of mindset is that?

It's not like fans are on the field making plays. The only thing fans can do is support their team. Fans have the luxury of talking some trash before a game while expecting a win. Why be a fan if you're not going to enjoy being a fan?

Breer's obviously a great NFL reporter, but that's a bad take from him. Vols fans are elite in every way. It's not their fault that the football team hasn't won the SEC since the 90s. In fact, Tennessee fans should be some of the most respected fans in all of sports because of their continued support of UT football through some rough years. After all, this sport isn't what it is without the fans.

Some folks just don't get the passion of college football. And Breer is one of those folks.
