There's something special brewing on Rocky Top, and one of the Tennessee Vols' 2019 signees is thrilled to be part of a changing culture.

Brian Maurer, a 6-foot-3/199 lb three-star quarterback who signed with the Vols during the early signing period in December, tweeted on Tuesday that there's no other program he'd want to play for.

There's definitely a major change underway at Tennessee and I think it's clear that Maurer senses it.

The Vols finished with a 5-7 record last season, but Jeremy Pruitt was able to pick up a couple of signature wins in his first season. Beating Auburn on the road and dominating the best Kentucky team in years (their first ten win team since 1977) with a team coming off a four win season (that nearly lost to UMass) is incredibly impressive.

Moving forward, the Volunteers have added one of the top offensive coordinators in the country in Jim Chaney, who will become the nation's highest paid offensive coordinator.

The amount of money and resources that are being committed to the football program signals that UT is serious about winning.

(Tennessee tried to budget their way to the top the last several years. I think we saw that wasn't a recipe for success.)

Pruitt and the Vols are bringing in quality coaches (bringing Tee Martin back is a huge move for recruiting and player development) who can truly help the program get back to where it was the late 90's/early 2000's.

Maurer, who is an early enrollee, can see the changes happening at Tennessee. He knows the prestigious university is close to a breakthrough on the field.

Maybe it happens in 2019. Or maybe it's 2020 before the Vols finally "arrive" on the national scene again. No one can be certain of when it will all click for Tennessee under Pruitt.

But there's no doubt that success is waiting for the Vols. And it's obvious that a lot of talented players want to be a major part of that success.
