Rumors are swirling that the Tennessee Vols are on the verge of switching from Nike to Adidas as the program's official apparel provider.

Tennessee's contract with Nike expires after the 2025 season and the expectation is that a new apparel deal will be reached at some point in July. And the feeling is that Adidas will be the choice (Adidas is expected to offer more money).

Many fans and athletes seem to prefer Nike over Adidas. But if Adidas has the more lucrative offer, Tennessee almost has to take it.

One concern that fans have about potentially switching to Adidas is how it will impact recruiting. But it doesn't appear that recruits are going to be put off by Adidas.

2026 five-star wide receiver Tristen Keys (an LSU commit who is being pursued by Tennessee), in fact, recently signed an NIL deal with Adidas

And 2026 five-star Vols quarterback commit Faizon Brandon was spotted wearing Adidas cleats during a high school practice this week.

It's worth noting that other players in the social media posts from Grimsley High School were seen wearing Nike cleats, so this certainly appears to be a personal choice by Brandon. (Does he have some inside information?)

We should know soon if Tennessee is flipping to Adidas (which would start in 2026).
