The Athletic has talked to numerous high school coaches recently about in-state recruiting and who does it best.
On Thursday, a story about Georgia and Georgia Tech recruiting in-state was published, which quoted eight anonoymous coaches.
One of the questions that was asked by The Athletic was about who the coaches thought was the best Georgia Bulldogs recruiter in recent years.
A coach from Middle Georgia suggested that it was Willie Martinez, who is currently the Tennessee Vols' secondary coach (this is his second stint at UT, Martinez also served as the secondary coach in Knoxville from 2013-2016 under Butch Jones).

Martinez was an assistant coach at Georgia from 2001-2009.
Here's what the anonymous coach had to say about Martinez when asked who was the best recruiter from Georgia during his time as a high school coach:
Willie Martinez. People skills and relating to kids. Some coaches don’t have great people skills and don’t know how to speak to today’s youth.
This is certainly great to hear if you're a Tennessee fan. The Vols need elite recruiters on their staff — especially as Josh Heupel tries to rebuild the program from the ground up.
Fortunately, it sounds like Martinez, along with other assistants like Alex Golesh, Mike Ekeler, and Jerry Mack are more than capable of landing some highly-rated recruits for the Vols.
