The Tennessee Vols are in the market for a transfer quarterback who could potentially start for the program in 2026.

Tennessee is also evaluating high school quarterback recruits in the 2027 and 2028 classes.

And the Vols extended an interesting offer this week.

Tennessee offers the younger brother of Alabama QB Ty Simpson

The Vols offered 2028 quarterback Graham Simpson on Saturday.

Simpson is the younger brother of Alabama Crimson Tide quarterback Ty Simpson, who recently declared for the 2026 NFL Draft.

“This offer from Tennessee means a lot to me,” said Simpson to Rivals. “It is an in-state school, and I’ve been watching them since I was little. With my pop being a Tennessee fan, and Peyton Manning being one of my favorite players, this has been one of those offers I wanted.”

Simpson, who is rated in the Rivals Industry Rankings as the No. 135 overall player in the 2028 recruiting class, also told Rivals that his high school offense at Westview in Martin, TN, is similar to the offense that Josh Heupel runs at Tennessee.

Heupel and the Vols heavily recruited Simpson’s older brother, but the program didn’t land the talented quarterback over Nick Saban and Alabama — partially because Heupel had just been hired by Tennessee the month before. Ty Simpson was likely heading to Tennessee until Jeremy Pruitt was fired.

It’s still early in the younger Simpson’s recruitment, but he’s expected to be one of the most coveted quarterbacks in the 2028 recruiting class, and it looks like Tennessee will make him a top priority.
