The Tennessee Vols aren't the favorites to win the SEC Championship in 2023.
Unsurprisingly, the Georgia Bulldogs are the favorites to win the conference this fall.
Tennessee doesn't have the second or third-best odds to win the SEC. Nor do they have the fourth-best odds.
Instead, the Vols have the fifth-best odds to win the SEC Championship in 2023.
Alabama has the second-best odds to win the SEC, followed by LSU with the third-best odds and Texas A&M with the fourth-best odds (via Caeser's Sportsbook).

It's a bit of a surprise to see Texas A&M ahead of Tennessee. The Aggies have the advantage of not facing Georgia in 2023, but they do play at LSU in late November in a game the Tigers should be favored to win.
Texas A&M also plays at Miami this fall and they'll host Alabama.
I'm not sure how a team that went 5-7 last season has better odds than a team that went 11-2 last season, but ultimately it has no bearing on what will actually happen in 2023. And if anything, it's a better scenario for bettors (I can't imagine that many folks outside of College Station will be placing bets on the Aggies to win the SEC this season).
