The Tennessee Vols received some good news to start the weekend.

2023 three-star defensive lineman Tyree Weathersby announced his commitment to Tennessee on Friday evening.

Weathersby, 6-foot-4/251 lbs from Douglasville, GA (New Manchester), is ranked in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 64 defensive lineman in the nation and the No. 50 player in the state of Georgia.

The Georgia native committed to Tennessee over offers from Boston College, Kentucky, Michigan State, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, and West Virginia, among many others.

Here's the scouting report on Weathersby from 247Sports:

Region 6-AAAAA Defensive Player of the Year. Also earned all-state honorable mention honors. Totaled 67 tackles and six sacks for a New Manchester squad that made Georgia’s playoffs. Lined up as mostly a 4 and 5-technique in a 3-4 front.

Tennessee now has 13 players committed to its 2023 recruiting class.
