2024 four-star running back Jordan Marshall, one of the Tennessee Vols' top recruiting targets, dropped a must-hear quote this week about UT football and its future under Josh Heupel.

Marshall, 5-foot-10.5/193 lbs from Cincinnati, OH, spoke to On3.com about his top schools — Tennessee, Michigan, Ohio State, and Wisconsin — and he made some pretty strong comments about the Vols after his recent visit to Knoxville.

"They’re dominant, they’re not scared," said Marshall. "What they did to Alabama and just watching them over their season, they really could be fighting for a national championship these next few years with Nico (Iamaleava) going there."

"The energy up there is just nuts and I could really see myself being a part of it," added Marshall.

It's clear that top recruits believe in Heupel's vision for Tennessee. And they don't think the Vols were just a one-hit wonder in 2022 — they think Heupel will continue to find success on Rocky Top.

As for Marshall's recruitment, it sounds like all four of his top schools are equally in the mix.

If the Vols manage to land Marshall, they'd be getting the No. 8 rated running back in the nation (247Sports composite) and the No. 2 player in the state of Ohio. This is certainly a player that Tennessee would love to have on the offensive side of the ball. And based on his comments, it sounds like he's very open to the idea of heading south to play for the Volunteers.
