The Tennessee Vols are one of the programs that's reportedly standing out to 2026 four-star offensive lineman Darius Gray.
Alabama, Michigan, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Ohio State, LSU, Clemson, Georgia, Oregon, Penn State, Virginia, and South Carolina are the programs currently in Gray's top 12.
Gray, 6-foot-3/277 lbs from Richmond, VA, is rated in 247Sports' composite rankings as the No. 3 interior offensive lineman in the nation and the No. 2 player in the state of Virginia. He's also rated as the No. 31 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class (which means he's practically a five-star recruit).
The coveted offensive lineman recently told On3 that he thinks what Tennessee is doing on the field is "pretty amazing".
“What they’re doing on the field is pretty amazing,” said Gray to On3 of his interest in the Vols. “They’re a playoff team. Sadly it ended pretty quick to a tough Ohio State team, but they’re doing a fantastic job, also in recruiting as well.”
Gray visited Tennessee this past season for the Vols' 56-0 win against UTEP in the penultimate week of the regular season.
There's obviously a long way to go in this recruiting battle, but it looks like the Vols are very much in the mix for Gray. The spring and summer months should provide more clarity on how serious of a contender Tennessee is for the talented offensive lineman.
