One of the Tennessee Vols' top 2025 recruiting targets is taking a visit this weekend to an unexpected program.

Five-star offensive tackle David Sanders Jr, 6-foot-6/270 lbs from Charlotte, NC, is arguably the Vols' biggest remaining 2025 recruiting target.

Sanders is rated by 247Sports as the No. 2 overall player in the 2025 recruiting class.

Nearly every major program in the nation — including Clemson, Georgia, and Ohio State, along with Tennessee — is in the mix for the elite offensive lineman.

Sanders is set to take an official visit to Tennessee on June 14. He also has visits scheduled to Clemson, Georgia, Alabama, and Ohio State.

This weekend, Sanders will visit a program that hasn't previously been mentioned among those that are at the top of the list for the North Carolina native.

According to On3, Sanders will visit Nebraska this weekend.

For now, Tennessee and Ohio State are viewed as the favorites for Sanders, though plenty could change over the next month while the coveted recruit takes his official visits. Clemson, which was once viewed as the favorite for Sanders, doesn't appear to be as big of a threat in this recruiting battle as they were a few weeks ago.

As far as the Nebraska trip is concerned, I wouldn't expect the Cornhuskers to become a major factor for Sanders. It feels like he's destined to play either in the SEC or at Ohio State.

Still, it's an interesting development in a recruiting battle that's only going to get more intense over the next several weeks.
