The Tennessee Vols are one of the top three schools for an elite 2027 five-star recruit, but they’re going up against a couple of heavyweights.
2027 five-star running back David Gabriel Georges told On3 this week that Tennessee, Georgia, and Ohio State are the three schools that are making “a lot of effort” in his recruitment.
On3’s Hayes Fawcett noted that those three schools “have separated themselves from the pack” in Gabriels Georges’ recruitment.
Miami, Texas, and Oregon are also in the mix for talented running back.
Gabriel Georges, 6-foot/205 lbs from Chattanooga, TN, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 3 running back in the nation and the No. 34 overall player in the 2027 recruiting class.
Highly rated in-state players are obviously always a priority for the Volunteers, but Gabriel Georges isn’t a typical in-state player. The five-star recruit is originally from Canada (it’s worth noting that 2026 five-star offensive lineman Gabriel Osenda, who is also from Canada and has been committed to the Vols since January, goes to same school in Chattanooga — The Baylor School — as Gabriel Georges).
Gabriel Georges will be in Columbus this weekend for Ohio State’s highly anticipated matchup against Texas. He’ll visit Tennessee in Week 3 of the college football season when the Vols host Georgia.
A win against the Bulldogs would certainly go a long way toward helping Tennessee win this recruiting battle.
