Tennessee Vols transfer wide receiver Squirrel White is visiting the Florida State Seminoles on Thursday according to a report from On3's Pete Nakos.
White, a former three-star recruit from Birmingham, AL, entered the NCAA transfer portal last month after spending the first three seasons of his career at Tennessee.
Florida State was left out of the College Football Playoff in 2023 after going 13-0 and winning the ACC Championship. The Seminoles' 2023 season ended with a 63-3 loss to the Georgia Bulldogs in the Orange Bowl.
FSU experienced a steep decline in 2024, going 2-10 in Mike Norvell's fifth season as the program's head coach.
White, who was banged up for much of the 2024 season, caught 131 passes for 1,665 yards and six touchdowns in three seasons with the Vols. The Alabama native's best season came in 2023 when he caught 67 passes for 803 yards and two touchdowns.
Nakos reported in late December that getting closer to home will be a factor in White's transfer decision.
Tallahassee, however, is about 90 minutes further away from White's hometown of Birmingham than Knoxville.
Mississippi State is another potential transfer destination that makes sense for White (especially since Mississippi State runs an offense that's very similar to Tennessee's).
