The Tennessee Vols made a big addition to their 2026 recruiting class last week by landing five-star athlete Salesi Moa.

Moa, 6-foot-1/190 lbs from Ogden, UT, is rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 31 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

The Utah native can play on both sides of the ball, but he’s expected to start out on the offensive side of the ball for the Volunteers.

VolQuest’s Austin Price joined 104.5 The Zone’s Ramon and Will on Tuesday and he was asked about the addition of Moa and the job that Tennessee wide receivers coach Kelsey Pope has done on the recruiting trail.

While discussing Moa, Price pointed out that another 2026 Vols commit that tends to get overlooked is as “as talented as anybody in the class”.

“I think for Tennessee, it’s just about continuing the momentum in recruiting,” said Price. “And Kelsey Pope’s had a really nice two year run. You date back to Mike Matthews and Braylon Staley (class of 2024 wide receivers) and it’s been a nice three year run. But last year, [Pope landed] Radarious (Jackson), Travis Smith, Joakim Dodson — a nice trio.

“This year to this point, [Pope has landed] Legend Bey and Tyreek King — who everybody forgets about and I think is as talented as anybody in the class. And now with Salesi Moa. And then, of course, there’s that one big fish out there that they’re trying to flip in Tristen Keys, so it’s a nice run by Kelsey Pope.”

Tyreek King, 5-foot-11/170 lbs from Knoxville, has been committed to Tennessee since October 31, 2024. He’s rated in 247Sports’ composite rankings as the No. 11 wide receiver in the nation and the No. 106 overall player in the 2026 recruiting class.

King was praised earlier this summer by Rivals’ Adam Gorney for his “outstanding hands” at the Rivals Five-Star Challenge in Indianapolis.

“King was a late arrival to the Rivals Five-Star but once he got going in one-on-ones and 7-on-7, the Tennessee commit was dynamic,” wrote Gorney in June. “He can always kick it into another gear and there always seems to be more speed for King to accelerate by defensive backs. The four-star receiver also has outstanding hands and catches everything thrown in his vicinity.”

The Vols have certainly added some nice wide receiver talent to the roster over the last few recruiting cycles. Now it’s all about that talent showing up on Saturdays in the fall.
