Tennessee Vols running back Dylan Sampson posted a photo of a cheetah in a cage on his Instagram story last weekend after UT's loss to the Florida Gators.
The cryptic social media post led to some concern in the Tennessee fan base.
Was Sampson unhappy because he didn't receive any carries against Florida? Or was the post completely unrelated to football?
We may never know the truth, though Sampson did briefly address the post on Saturday after Tennessee's win against UTSA.
"What are you talking about," said Sampson while teammates Elijah Herring and Kaleb Webb laughed beside him at the podium. "That's my favorite animal. I used to watch Wild Kratts when I was little…I just love when they'd put the cheetah suit on. It just resonated with me."
As is usually the case, there was no reason for concern over the "cryptic post" from Sampson.
By the way, Sampson rushed for 139 yards and two touchdowns in the Vols' win on Saturday (Sampson has six total touchdowns this season).
Referee makes inexcusable mistake in Tennessee Vols’ win against UTSA
That simply can’t happen in a college football game
