Tennessee Vols wide receiver Jalin Hyatt should be a first-round selection in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Hyatt's impressive level of production in the SEC last season — specifically against teams like Alabama and LSU — helped the South Carolina native win the Biletnikoff Award this past year (given annually to the top pass catcher in the nation).

The former Vol's impressive speed combined with his elite pass-catching abilities has him primed to be a first-round choice in the draft later this month.

The latest mock draft from NFL.com's Chad Reuter has Hyatt landing in a dream scenario.

Reuter has the Kansas City Chiefs trading up to No. 25 overall (a trade with the New York Giants) to select Hyatt.

From NFL.com: The Chiefs move up six spots, sending the Giants a late third-round pick (No. 95) in the process, to secure Hyatt's downfield speed and after-the-catch ability before the Cowboys can do the same.

There isn't a better situation for Hyatt than landing with the Chiefs.

(And Kansas City, by the way, definitely needs to add another wide receiver with playmaking abilities to their roster after losing JuJu Smith-Schuster and Mecole Hardman in free agency this offseason.)

Chiefs head coach Andy Reid has one of the more innovative offensive minds in the NFL. There are elements of what Kansas City does offensively that are similar to what Tennessee does under Josh Heupel. For example, the Chiefs utilized some switch releases with their wide receivers this past season (they even used switch releases a couple of times during their Super Bowl LVII win against the Philadelphia Eagles).

Those switch releases were often how the Vols were able to scheme Hyatt wide open (Hyatt still had to do his part, it's not as simple as just being "schemed open").

Hyatt could have success with any team that drafts him. But landing with Reid and Patrick Mahomes would absolutely be the best-case scenario for the former Vols standout.
