LSU Tigers head coach Brian Kelly might have thrown some shade at his own fan base on Tuesday night.
A reporter asked Kelly how he felt about LSU fans rushing the field after the Tigers' win against the Ole Miss Rebels this past Saturday.
Ole Miss was ranked No. 7 at the time.
Kelly indicated to the reporter that rushing the field didn't make sense to him.
"I was really surprised, I didn't expect it," said Kelly.
"I just was surprised," added Kelly. "It didn't appear to me that there was anything in my mind that this would be a game where we would storm the field."
Most folks probably agree with Kelly — at least if they're being honest with themselves.
LSU has now won six of the last seven meetings against the Rebels. It wasn't exactly a shocker that Ole Miss lost the game. Sure, the Rebels have been good this year. But this is still a rivalry that tilts heavily in the Tigers' favor.
Kelly, however, probably should've kept this thought to himself. This quote probably won't go over well with fans in Baton Rouge.
