The 2024 Senior Bowl practice week wrapped up following Thursday's sessions.
Multiple players made their marks on day one and day two. Today, I will discuss which five players had the best overall week, with all 32 teams in attendance.
Senior Bowl Winners
Roman Wilson was so dominant during the first two days of the Senior Bowl that he didn't feel the need to suit up for day three. Wilson put his full route tree on display and lived wide open throughout practices. It will be interesting to see how the rest of Wilson's draft cycle goes because it feels that he has been undervalued.
2. Quinyon Mitchell, CB, Toledo
This upcoming CB class has an abundance of talent, but it's still a mystery when and how they will come off the board. And Quinyon Mitchell out of Toledo spent the week in Mobile stating his case to be a first-round pick and even the first CB selected. Mitchell was dominant in one-on-ones as well as team periods. He also showed that he can excel in both man coverage and zone coverage throughout the week. I'd say it is safe to say that Mitchell locked up one of the upcoming first-round picks, as well as most of the WRs at the Senior Bowl.
3. Darius Robinson, DL, Missouri
Missouri's Darius Robinson is a massive human at 6'5" and 256 lbs. And he looks even bigger in person. Robinson showed off his position versatility this week by spending time inside and on the edge. He won at both spots with his unique combo of strength and speed. Coming into this week, it felt like Robinson's draft range was between being a late second-round and early third-round prospect. But now it feels realistic that he's catapulted himself into the late first or early second range.
4. Jackson Powers-Johnson, OC, Oregon
Oregon's Jackson Powers-Johnson seemed to be the favorite to be the first center off the board come April, and he proved that at the Senior Bowl. Powers-Johnson was dominant during one-on-one reps and continued to impress throughout the team drills. His being a true force in both the pass and run game will likely have him at the top of many team boards at the center position.
5. Dylan Laube, RB, New Hampshire
For an FCS player to make this list over some of the top schools in the country shows just how great he was this week. New Hampshire RB Dyland Laube put on a show every time he was given an opportunity. Some may have questioned whether he would be drafted or not coming into the week, but I think he's put that conversation to bed. The new question is how high he could go. Laube spent time with both the WRs and RBs this week, and I think he cemented himself as one of the best, if not the best, receiving back in this upcoming class. His ability goes beyond catching out of the backfield, as he showed solid route running against CBs this week.
