The 2025 NFL Draft is now right around the corner. The order at the top of the draft has been decided and fans now are looking ahead to the future playmakers of their team.

Our team of NFL Draft contributors at A to Z Sports is already fully engaged in 2025 NFL Draft preparations, so we decided to rank our Top 10 prospects at every position collectively.

Eight of our draft analysts ranked our top ten prospects, then tallied the point totals like the AP Poll in college football to create the A to Z Sports Top 10 Positional Rankings series. Here's where we landed on the incoming 2025 NFL Draft edge rushers.

It's a difficult but exciting group to project, as every analyst had different rankings of players and rarely had much consensus. However, that means this class will offer plenty of discussion throughout the offseason.

1. Abdul Carter, Penn State

To the surprise of nobody, Abdul Carter took the top spot by a pretty stark gap. All but one of our scouts had Carter as their top edge rusher, and the one dissension had him second.

Carter is arguably the best pure athlete in the entire 2025 NFL Draft class, with tantalizing explosiveness off of the line of scrimmage. A versatile player, Carter was the most disruptive player in college football this season and was a key cog in pushing Penn State to the CFP Semifinals.

2. James Pearce Jr., Tennessee

James Pearce Jr. was a tad more divisive among scouts in rankings, but he was still viewed high enough to earn the second spot on this list.

While Pearce is an inconsistent run defender, he is quick off the line of scrimmage and gets after the quarterback in a hurry.

3. Nic Scourton, Texas A&M

Nic Scourton appeared generally from third to fifth place among our scouts, with an average ranking of 3.71. His film is pretty divisive overall, which is why there's some splits on his placement by the A to Z crew.

His film at Texas A&M this year was still quality, but not quite the breakthrough many were expecting to see out of him this season. He put on some bad weight and A&M's usage for him might have impacted his production as well. The upside swing is banking on his Purdue film, where he showed very good quickness and a wide range of pass-rush moves.

4. Mykel Williams, Georgia

Mykel Williams had a wider split, with a high ranking of second place and a low of seventh, but the consensus average had him with the fourth overall spot.

Don't look now, but the Georgia Bulldogs have another unbelievable athlete at defensive end. Mykel Williams is a long, powerful, and explosive pass rusher with traits the NFL will fall head over heels for.

5. Shemar Stewart, Texas A&M

Shemar Stewart is another enticing prospect in this edge class. The A to Z scouts placed him anywhere from third to seventh place in our rankings.

Much like Mykel Williams, Stewart is an unbelievable mover for his 290-pound frame. NFL teams will covet his athleticism, power, and length.

6. Princely Umanmielen, Ole Miss

Princely Umanmielen banked on himself when he transferred from Florida to Ole Miss, and it worked out for him, boosting his draft stock into the potential first-round territory.

Umanmielen is a talented if inconsistent pass rusher. He boasts plenty of tools, however, and has the skill set NFL teams will bank on early.

7. Mike Green, Marshall

Nobody has shot up draft boards faster than Marshall's Mike Green. Two of our scouts have him as high as fourth-place, placing him firmly in first-round territory.

He is an explosive mover and dominated every level of competition he faced this season. Green's size might limit his impact on run downs, but he is a dynamic pass rusher.

8. Landon Jackson, Arkansas

We didn't have an edge rusher with a greater disparity in rankings than Landon Jackson. He was ranked anywhere from sixth to 17th by our A to Z Scouts.

If you look up the word "motor" in the football dictionary, Landon Jackson pops up. He is constantly battling, putting his body on the line in run defense and is constantly chasing the quarterback. He isn't the best athlete in the world, but he makes up for it with effort and a good range of pass rush moves.

9. Kyle Kennard, South Carolina

It speaks to the quality of this class that a player like Kyle Kennard is ninth on our rankings.

Kennard is viewed as a likely top-50 pick in the upcoming draft, with good quickness and length. He won the Bronko Nagurski Award as the best defensive player in college football, won the SEC Defensive Player of the Year, and was a unanimous All-American.

10. Donovan Ezeiruaku, Boston College

Donovan Ezeiruaku edged out the Ohio State duo to take the final spot in the top ten thanks to one scout putting him second in his rankings.

Ezeiruaku is a crafty, bendy pass rusher who projects to be a quality subpackage rusher at the next level. He has a terrific move set as a pass rusher and should be an early Day 2 selection in April.
